In accordance with Alabama Administrative Code, TCSS will destroy special education and gifted records for students born in the year 2000 who were referred, evaluated, and/or identified as individuals with special education or gifted needs.

A parent/legal guardian, or former student who is 19 years of age or older, may obtain copies of these records by contacting the TCSS Special Education Department no later than June 24, 2026.

The Tuscaloosa County Board of Education has selected Dr. Daniel Bray as the next Superintendent of the Tuscaloosa County School System. 

Dr. Bray has served as TCSS Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction since 2021.

Dr. Bray’s appointment to the position of Superintendent is effective Friday, November 21.
